Parent Testimonials:

My husband and I are thankful we are part of the Charter Oak family. Our son graduated from Charter Oak in June of 2023. When we decided to switch our son's school in fourth grade, there were lots of unknowns and uncertainties. We were so happy with how he was welcomed into the Charter Oak community. Our daughter wakes up every morning happy to go to school to see her caring teachers and friends. She loves Charter Oak and has blossomed so much over the past couple of years. Charter Oak is truly a special place where children have access to a world-class education in an environment with caring staff and students who reflect the diversity that we see in West Hartford. The focus on IB provides students with a strong foundation that prepares students to be thinkers, which will help to set them up for success in our evolving world. It also connects them to children around the globe who are learning about similar IB principles. Thank you Charter Oak for being part of our village.

Our three girls (ages 10 and 7) have all been students at Charter Oak since they entered the Pre-K3 program and it’s been a wonderful experience for everyone. Our oldest is headed to middle school in the fall and we’re sad her journey at Charter Oak is coming to an end because it has been so positive. The International Baccalaureate (IB) program has taught our girls how to inquire about the world around them, our environment, and how to express themselves. Often our twins start a sentence “Mom, did you know that….”. We love how they have been exposed and learn about different cultures, traditions, and languages (Spanish & Mandarin) which in turn makes them more sensitive and empathetic human beings. The Charter Oak community is welcoming, uplifting, and very supportive. The teachers and staff keep us regularly informed on our girls’ progress and have been there to support them and guide us when they’ve needed that extra help. We are so fortunate to live in a town that has an IB magnet program. We can’t say enough about Charter Oak International Academy.
