Key Concepts

The PYP identifies seven key concepts that facilitate planning for a conceptual approach to transdisciplinary and subject-specific learning. These key concepts drive the learning experiences and the teacher- and/or student-constructed inquiries. By investigating key concepts, students learn to think critically about big ideas. The questions and question stems below provide a starting point for student inquiry in a directed and manageable way.
